Naira Marley under fire over claims of staged attack in Cotonou

A dramatic scene unfolded at Naira Marley’s recent concert in the Benin Republic after a fan stormed the stage in an apparent attempt to attack the singer.

Security operatives, including Sam Larry, quickly intervened, overpowering the intruder and dragging him away as the show continued.

The clip has since gone viral, sparking mixed reactions online as fans speculated about the motive behind the man’s bold move.

Naira Marley himself reacted to the incident in a lighthearted manner, reposting the video on his X page with the caption: “The moment I got attacked on stage 😂😂😂😂 see baba oninu re.”

The development comes just weeks after the singer addressed ongoing controversies linked to the death of his former signee, Mohbad, who died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27. The tragic death triggered the #Justice4MohBad movement, with Nigerians calling for accountability and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the young star’s passing.
