Yanin Campos, a former contestant on MasterChef México and a rising social media personality, has died at the age of 38 following a car crash in Chihuahua, Mexico.
The news was confirmed by her brother, Raúl Campos, who shared a tribute and memorial details earlier this week on Facebook.
According to reports from El Financiero, the incident occurred early Saturday morning, just after 6 a.m., when Campos reportedly collided with a parked vehicle while driving.
She was rushed to a nearby hospital and remained under medical care for two days before succumbing to her injuries. Local authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
Campos first appeared on MasterChef México in 2018, where she finished in sixth place. Her talent and charisma earned her a spot in a follow-up all-stars-style spin-off the following year, where she competed against other former contestants.
Since her time on television, Campos built a dedicated following on social media, amassing over 100,000 followers on TikTok and 75,000 on Instagram. She regularly posted content about cooking, family life, and personal reflections. Her final TikTok post came earlier this month, shortly before the accident.
