Ace Nigerian filmmaker Kemi Adetiba has once again shed light on her ongoing health struggle with fibroids, revealing that she may have to undergo a third surgery to manage the condition.
Adetiba first went public about her battle with fibroids in 2015, describing it at the time as a “severe case” that once led to an emergency room visit.
This time, the revelation came through a heartfelt comment on Instagram. Actress Ini Dima-Okojie had shared a video detailing her battle with fibroids, calling for more awareness and ultimately, a cure.
“We NEED a cure for fibroids. In the meantime, I hope every woman dealing with it is hanging in there. Just know that you are not alone,” Ini wrote in her caption.
In response, Adetiba took to the comment section and revealed, “I’ve had surgery twice for this already, and it now seems I might need a third. Sigh.”

Despite her battle, Adetiba has remained a dominant force in the Nigerian film industry. Her latest work, To Kill A Monkey, a mini-series that premiered on Netflix on July 18, has been widely praised for its storytelling and production quality.
