Nigerian chef, Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has fired back at critics who bombarded her with hurtful messages following a recent event speech.
The chef, who once attempted a Guinness World Record in 2023, has expressed her frustration over the personal attacks she received online.
Fans Flood DMs with Hurtful Messages
Chef Dammy was invited to give a short speech about herself at a recent event. While the speech was brief, it sparked a wave of criticism from some attendees and online followers.
Many of these critics sent her abusive direct messages (DMs), targeting her career choices and character.
Chef Dammy Calls Out Online Bullies
In response, Chef Dammy released a video addressing her haters directly.
“If you want to insult me, do it in the comment section, not in my DMs,” she said.
The chef shared that she had received words like “Werey,” a local term meaning “mad person,” among other abusive messages.
Reflection on Past Hurt
Reflecting on her past experiences, Chef Dammy admitted that she used to feel hurt by such comments.
However, she stressed that she has grown stronger and no longer lets negativity affect her.
She explained that many of her critics do not really know who she is today, and therefore their opinions hold little weight.
Observations About Critics
The chef went further to share her impressions of those sending insults.
According to her, people who lash out at others often have issues in their own lives and families.
“The way they behave online often reflects problems at home,” she stated, pointing out that their anger says more about them than it does about her.
