Nollywood actor and musician, Jigan Baba Oja, has publicly addressed allegations linking him to a group of celebrities accused of attempting to derail the pursuit of justice for late singer Mohbad.
The allegations surfaced after controversial social media commentator Verydarkman leaked chats from a WhatsApp group, claiming that several celebrities, including Jigan, Iyabo Ojo, Samklef, and others, conspired to spread false narratives, influence public opinion, and orchestrate his arrest following his outspoken calls for a deeper investigation into Mohbad’s death.
In response, Jigan took to his Instagram page to clear his name, explaining that his only connection to the group stemmed from a shared desire to seek justice for the late singer.
According to Jigan, he met Mohbad just three weeks before the singer’s passing during a video shoot, and the brief interaction sparked his interest in the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s tragic demise.
He stressed that his involvement in the WhatsApp group was transparent and centered solely on finding out the truth behind Mohbad’s death.
“I was posting on my page for Mohbads justice when I got a message, asking if I was interested in a movement aimed at getting justice for Mohbad. That was what led me there; nothing is hidden about my interactions on the group.
‘On the group, we simply asked what could be the cause of his death and so on. I have no reason to hide anything if I know anything about Mohbad’s death,” he added.
