Senior Special Assistant on Media to Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie, has expressed his disappointment over Chioma Adeleke’s attire at the recently concluded 2026 Grammy Awards.
In a post shared on his Facebook page, Ovie criticised Davido’s wife for dressing in what he described as a “half-naked” outfit, saying it did not reflect Nigerian culture appropriately.
Cultural Representation Matters
Ovie noted that as a public figure and role model, Chioma’s appearance on an international stage carried significant influence.

He argued that young Nigerian women could be negatively influenced by such fashion choices.
He wrote: “I am disappointed in Chioma Davido’s dressing. She shouldn’t have been half-nked to Grammy. She didn’t represent Nigerian culture well, embracing a half nked revealing Western style instead.”
He further added that Davido, as her husband, should have guided her better. “Cultural representation matters, and it’s crucial. I am disappointed in Davido for allowing her to dress this way. I am really disappointed,” he stated.
Public Reactions
Ovie’s remarks have sparked conversations online about the balance between personal style and cultural representation on global platforms.
