Nigerian skit maker and actor Ganiyu Morufu, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has accused officers of the Area ‘J’ Division of the Lagos State Police Command of assault, unlawful seizure of his phone, and the alleged theft of $1,200 belonging to his brother.
The allegation followed a video shared on his verified Facebook page, @Ijoba Lande 1, which has since gone viral.

In the footage, the entertainer was seen with visible injuries around his eyes as people around him attempted to clean his face with water.
The video also showed him inside what appeared to be a police station, where he was trying to lodge a complaint over the incident.
Ijoba Lande, who reportedly returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom six days before the incident, did not disclose the exact circumstances or location of the alleged assault
According to him, police officers physically attacked him during the encounter, confiscated his iPhone 16 Pro Max, and allegedly took $1,200 in cash.
“I came back from the UK 6 days ago and was attacked and beaten by police in Nigeria. They collected my iPhone 16 Pro Max and my brother’s $1,200. I nearly lost my life,” he lamented.
