Pastor David Ibiyeomie of Salvation Ministries has responded to the backlash over social media clips showing his luxury watches he owns.
During a church service, he clarified that the videos circulating do not reflect the full extent of his collection.
$2 Million Watch Gift
Speaking to his congregation, Pastor Ibiyeomie revealed that a supporter had gifted him a watch worth $2 million.
“Someone gave me a watch worth $2 million. I have not even worn half of my watches. The one they show on social media is just small, I have many watches. If they see all my watches, they’d just faint. I’m getting watches because I’m solving problems,” he said.
Gifts, Not Purchases
He further explained that he does not buy the watches himself.
“A young man came to me and said God instructed him to give his pastor. He told me God told him to give them to me. So I have a lot; the ones posted online are even small,” Pastor Ibiyeomie added.
Social Media Debates
The pastor’s reaction comes amid discussions online about the display of wealth by religious leaders.
Pastor Ibiyeomie emphasized that the watches are gifts, received as part of his work in helping others, and not personal purchases.
