Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Opeyemi Ayanwale, better known as Imisi, has revealed that her victory in the just concluded edition of the reality show came as a surprise to her.
Speaking in a post-show interview with Arise TV, Imisi explained that she never expected to win and was not even properly dressed for the announcement when she stepped on stage on Sunday night.
According to her, she had prepared herself for any outcome but was overwhelmed with emotion when her name was called as the winner.
Imisi speaks on battling anxiety before final announcement
Imisi also opened up about battling anxiety moments before the final announcement, admitting that the tension backstage was almost unbearable.
She thanked her fans and supporters for believing in her, adding that her win is proof that “grace truly speaks louder than effort.”
“Winning the reality show was shocking to me. Sincerely, I was not expecting to win.
“Before I got the show, I was tensed just hearing the crowd chant my name. I was shocked when I was announced the winner.
“I wore crocs to the stage because I am not comfortable in heels. I did not even plan for the live show,” she said.
Imisi’s BBNaija win
It will be recalled that Imisi defeated her closest rival, Dede, by a wide margin to emerge as the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10 on Sunday.
The 23-year-old reality star officially received her grand prize of N150 million on Tuesday, which included N80 million in cash and a brand-new Innoson SUV.
