Afrobeats star Rema has revealed how he prepares for his shows, sharing a mix of alcohol, cigarettes, and prayer as part of his pre-performance ritual.
Speaking with Dazed during Milan Fashion Week, where he walked for Diesel, the “Calm Down” singer shared the steps he takes to get ready for his high-energy performances on stage.

“A little Tequila, a little cigarette, pray, tap in with the team and make sure everything is on cue,” he said.
He explained that performing is more stressful than walking the runway because it requires careful breathwork and energy management to keep the crowd engaged.
Rema also shared that he’s been drawing inspiration from Sudanese cultural live music and admitted that smoking cigarettes is his biggest vice.
Known for his energetic performances and unique style, Rema takes deliberate steps to connect with the crowd while staying in top form.
In a previous interview, the artist revealed his thoughts on an ideal partner, saying he prefers stylish women over wealthy ones, as he already has the money.
Fans have praised his honesty and dedication, while others playfully commented on his “pre-show Tequila habit.”
