Nollywood actress and producer Iyabo Ojo has revealed that she was initially reluctant to organise a baby shower for her daughter, Priscilla, and her son-in-law, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
Speaking at the baby shower event held in Canada, the actress explained that her disinterest stemmed from a desire to avoid further media attention and online drama following the already high-profile wedding ceremony, which spanned several months.
Iyabo disclosed that it was a close family member, Aunty Lola, who eventually convinced her to support the baby shower plans.
“Aunty Lola told me she wants to do baby shower for Priscilla’s child. I was like, ‘We’ve been doing so much since February, the wedding was long.’ I was like, ‘I don’t know,’ but Aunt Lola is like a special aunty that I can never say no to. And because of the social media wahala, I didn’t want it at first,” Iyabo said during the event.
Despite her initial hesitation, the baby shower went ahead, and videos from the event captured joyful moments among friends, family, and guests.
