I can satisfy u and give u peace…

A Nigerian man identified as Festus Awolowo Etame, an Isoko native from Delta State, has captured public attention after sending a marriage proposal to award-winning singer Tiwa Savage.

This letter, dated Wednesday, October 23, 2025, comes barely a week after his first proposal.

‘I’m Not Coming to Chop and Run’ – Festus Says

Festus, who described himself as a Management Consultant, Author, and Publisher, expressed deep admiration for the Afrobeats star and reiterated his desire to make her his wife.

He claimed his intentions were genuine and not driven by fame or wealth, insisting:

“I’m NOT coming to chop (eat) and run. I’m coming to continuously water the garden.”

In his emotional letter, Festus appealed to Tiwa Savage to avoid becoming a second or third wife, warning that doing so could harm her career and peace of mind.

He urged her instead to marry a Christian man who would love her and adopt her son as his own.

‘I Can Satisfy You and Give You Peace’ – Festus Promises

Festus went further to stress that a monogamous marriage would bring Tiwa peace, love, and longevity.

He also touched on the issue of sexual satisfaction, claiming that a faithful husband could “perform ultimately for spousal good.”

Below is an excerpt from his letter:

“Almost one week ago, I wrote and submitted a marriage proposal to you. Indeed, I dreamed of having you as my better-half. It’s my belief that you’re too young and beautiful to be a second or third wife to any polygynist.

Men, by nature, view themselves as conquerors in spousal relationships. Becoming a second or third wife will atrophy your music talents. Spousal conflicts will negatively affect your musical inspiration. I speak from my knowledge of a son born in polygamy. My dad had 19 children. I grew up in a polygamous home where rivalries and petty jealousies between wives exist.

You’re too beautiful and talented to be in such a situation. It’s a battlefield, where, as a global brand, you’ll be enmeshed in diurnal blows. You need a husband who’s monogamous and willing to love you, and adopt your son as his. Marrying into a monogamous, nuclear family will give you an Eldorado — peace, perfect peace, love, beauty, and longevity.

Sexual satisfaction from a husband with one wife will give you rest of mind. Such a husband will be fit enough to sexually perform ultimately for spousal good. Sexual satisfaction breeds peace and contentment.

Lest I forget, you had tasted marriage before. You cannot afford to go into another marriage to fight marriage wars. You’ve only one life to live. Once beaten, twice shy.

Yes, there are tens of marriage proposals flooding your Internet space. Most of these guys are out to chop and run. For me, I’m coming in to continuously water the garden. I’m going to add, not reduce, to your successes.

For the record, I’m a Nigerian. I’m Isoko of Delta State. In all modesty, I’m educated: an alumnus of the Universities of Benin and Lagos. I’m a Management Consultant, Author and Publisher of academic textbooks.

As I said earlier, I’m NOT coming to chop (eat) and run. I’m eminently qualified to run your music brand, tour plans and add to your release of more global serenade of evergreen music.

As you can deduct from my proposal, I’m single. I was once married to a beautiful and intelligent Yoruba woman of Ijebu stock. However, God made her to kick the bucket on Monday, 19th August, 2019. She was 59. I still cherish her care and evergreen counsel. If it’s God’s will, you’ll fill the void, won’t you?

I’m not looking for a perfect TOS. No! You’ve your own weaknesses. I, too, have mine. We’ll work out a way to bond our relationship. I know you’re sanguine in temperament. I’m choleric.

As a Christian, I do not drink alcohol; I do not smoke; I do not womanize. Even if you drink alcohol, I won’t castigate you. We shall have a Damascus-road encounter. Deep calls deep.

You please marry a Christian. Don’t marry any man, though a billionaire, who has four or five wives already. Most polygamous marriages are covers of witches and wizards. The wives already in that marriage will bring you down.

Accept my marriage proposal. I pray God to guide you in choosing a husband. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,
Festus Awolowo Etame, Abuja

Tiwa Savage’s ‘Second Wife’ Confession

Festus’ latest proposal appears to have been triggered by Tiwa Savage’s recent statement about marriage.
During her appearance on the Lip Service podcast, the “Somebody’s Son” crooner admitted that she might be open to becoming a second wife, saying most of her eligible suitors are either much older or already married.

She said: “I’m like a sugar mama, but I don’t want to be. If I meet somebody who can really marry me, they are either in their 50s or already married. So, I don’t know. Maybe I can be a second wife. I think so. I could be a second wife.”

The singer, who was previously married to music executive Tunji Balogun (TBillz), added that she wouldn’t be a troublesome co-wife and would respect the first wife’s position.

Public Reactions Trail the Unusual Proposal

Festus’ latest letter has since stirred reactions online, with many Nigerians amused by his boldness.

As of press time, Tiwa Savage has not publicly responded to the marriage proposal.
