Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has taken to the streets of Lagos to share hundreds of plates of food with people following her public appeal to ensure that her massive cooking effort does not go to waste.
The distribution comes after Hilda attempted to set a Guinness World Record for cooking the largest pot of Nigerian-style jollof rice ever.
The event, held on September 12, 2025, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, drew food enthusiasts, celebrities, and dignitaries, including Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, dancer Kaffy, and Ogun State First Lady Bamidele Abiodun.
In a video posted on TikTok by @lwd_nni, her team was seen distributing the food to members of the public.
The caption revealed that while some portions had already been served, a large quantity was later moved to Gbagada to prevent wastage.
The caption read: “The jollof rice from the largest pot has been shared on the streets of Lagos. The rest has been moved to Gbagada. If you’re around, stop by and get your share so it doesn’t waste.”

We still have so much food even with all the package, there is still much food. The venue is Eko Hotels and I won’t leave this place until everybody in Lagos taste this food.”
