Nigerian gospel music artiste, Frank Edwards has joined millions of Christians around the world in mourning the death of renowned American gospel singer and worship leader, Dr Ron Kenoly, who passed away at the age of 81.
The Nigerian gospel star expressed his grief in an emotional post shared online, describing Kenoly’s passing as a great loss to the body of Christ.
In his message, Frank Edwards wrote: “Life well lived, Heaven’s gain 🙏🕊️ Thank you for the music, thank you for the impact! Rest well Dr Ron Kenoly.”


His words echoed the feelings of many gospel ministers who grew up singing and leading worship with Kenoly’s songs.
Ron Kenoly was born on December 6, 1944, in Coffeyville, Kansas, United States.
He became globally known in the 1990s for his energetic praise style and scripture-filled worship songs that transformed church services across continents.
Songs such as Ancient of Days, Jesus Is Alive, I See the Lord and Lift Him Up became worship staples in churches, conferences and prayer meetings worldwide.


Kenoly served for many years as a worship leader and pastor at Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose, California.
Beyond music, he was known for teaching on worship, leadership and spiritual growth, influencing generations of worship leaders, pastors and gospel artistes.
Although details surrounding his death remain private, close associates confirmed that he had faced health challenges in recent years.
