Grammy-winning singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has once again set the internet on fire after boldly declaring that the late Fela Kuti is the only artist greater than him.
During his appearance on Twitch with streamer PlaqueBoyMax, the Afrobeat star made the jaw-dropping statement while vibing to Fela’s lyrics word for word.

Burna Boy said with a confident grin, “Fela is the king. He’s the only one greater than me,” before crowning himself “001 of the Afrobeats music industry.”
The moment instantly went viral, sending fans into a frenzy. Some praised Burna for recognizing Fela’s legendary impact, calling him a true heir to the Afrobeat throne.
Others, however, accused him of being too full of himself, a debate that has been dominating social media over the years.
Still, Burna Boy’s admiration for Fela Kuti is nothing new. He’s always called the Afrobeat pioneer his biggest inspiration and ultimate role model, often blending Fela’s rebellious spirit with his own modern twist of rhythm and storytelling.
This self-proclaimed “African Giant” had ripped open the long-standing “Big Three” debate: the fan-fueled rivalry between Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido.
As clips from the Twitch stream continue to trend, one thing is clear: Burna Boy isn’t just talking big, he’s walking in the footsteps of greatness, carving his own path as one of Africa’s boldest and most influential music icons.
