A Nigerian performer who goes by the stage name Fake Flavour has responded to allegations that he has been deceiving fans by impersonating the award-winning highlife artist Flavour N’abania.
In a recently shared video, the entertainer clarified that his intention has never been to scam anyone, stressing that his admiration for the real Flavour is the reason behind his stage identity.

“I’m not using Flavour’s name to scam people; I just love him,” he said, defending himself against the viral accusations that have trailed his performances across the country.
Charging less than the real star
The impersonator also shed light on how much he earns per show, noting that his rates are nowhere near what the original Flavour would accept.
According to him, his booking fees range from ₦700,000 to ₦800,000, a figure he claims is modest compared to what the genuine musician commands for appearances.
He stated confidently, “Flavour would never perform for that amount. People who book me know I’m doing my own thing, and I’m not pretending to be him to get money.”
Public reaction and viral buzz
The video quickly spread across social media platforms, sparking mixed reactions from users.
Some found his honesty amusing, while others questioned whether using the name “Fake Flavour” might still mislead the public.
Despite the criticism, the entertainer maintained that his brand is built on respect and admiration, not deception.
His growing popularity has attracted attention from both fans and industry watchers who see him as part of Nigeria’s vibrant entertainment culture of imitation acts.
