Popular Nollywood actress, Judy Austin has cautioned young girls against rushing into marriage, especially due to pregnancy.
In a now viral Instagram live, Judy told her followers that marrying a man just because you’re pregnant can lead to regret.
In her words, she said:
“Don’t marry a man because you’re pregnant for him, you will regret it. The first question you should ask yourself is can I spend the rest of my life with this guy.”
She urged young girls to ask themselves the hard questions: can they truly spend the rest of their lives with this man, love him, stay committed, and grow together.
According to her, these decisions require emotional maturity and mental readiness — something many young girls may not yet have.
She emphasized that ladies should think carefully before making such life-altering decisions. Judy also stressed the importance of dating and getting to know people before marriage, adding:
“Date people, learn people, understand that you can’t trust anyone except yourself and God”
Judy, who has been at the center of the controversy for allegedly coming between Yul Edochie and May Edochie’s marriage, reminded young girls that marriage is a lifelong commitment.
Taking time, knowing oneself, and choosing wisely are far more important than rushing into marriage due to pregnancy.
