Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has confirmed that she has officially relocated to New York City, United States.
During an appearance on Hot 93.7FM’s Buck N Regg Show, the 23-year-old singer opened up about her major move and how it is shaping the next phase of her career.


“I do live in New York. I moved in officially less than two months ago. I am always in New York regardless,” she said.
Ayra revealed that she initially had doubts about relocating, but a moment on stage convinced her that the city was the right choice.
She explained that New York reminds her of Lagos, highlighting the strong presence of Nigerians and the broader African diaspora.
“New York reminds me so much of Lagos. There are a lot of Nigerians. There is a huge African diaspora here. So it feels like home,” she added.
She described the relocation as both a personal adventure and a strategic decision to grow her international reach.
The Rush crooner also hinted that her new base has opened doors to fresh collaborations and partnerships, though she kept the names private.
Despite the move, Ayra Starr assured fans that Nigeria will always remain home, promising to return for shows, family engagements, and creative projects.
