Nigerian actress Angela Okorie has reportedly been re-arrested over her alleged refusal to pay legal fees owed to the lawyer who helped secure her bail from Suleja prison.
According to reports, the actress was re-arrested on Tuesday at the Suleja prison shortly after she was released on bail.
The development reportedly occurred less than an hour after actor Stanley Ontop raised an alarm on social media about an alleged plan to re-arrest her following her release.
Doris Ogala reveals alleged reason for her rearrest
In a video shared on Instagram, actress Doris Ogala claimed that she was on her way to the police station after learning of the incident.
She alleged that Angela Okorie was re-arrested at the instance of an unnamed Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) over her refusal to pay an agreed N5 million legal fee for securing her bail.

“You see, one thing is for someone to cut their clothes according to their size. Angela has been arrested again. As a matter of fact, I’m going to the police station now. You see, when Angela was arrested by Mercy, she called a friend of her or village person. I don’t know how they relate. To help her get a SAN.
“And the SAN charged them N5 million. I think the SAN was the one who even facilitated the bail and all that. Now when Angela knew that they have granted her bail according to the lady, Angela started saying that she didn’t ask her to get a SAN and she wasn’t going to pay the money, and meanwhile this lady has deposited.”
Angela Okorie had earlier been granted bail on Friday following her arrest, which was linked to a petition by fellow actress Mercy Johnson over alleged defamation. Reports state that she had only regained her freedom moments earlier after meeting and perfecting her bail conditions before the fresh arrest.
As of the time of this report, neither Angela Okorie nor her legal representatives have officially responded to the allegations surrounding the re-arrest.
