According to reports, California police who were informed of a 2-year-old Ja’mari Madkins Found Dead on Friday found his remains buried in another county.
According to Paul Chambers, a spokesman for the Oakland Police Department, Sao Pablo Police informed them about Ja’mari Madkins’ passing on December 23. The young child is thought to have passed away in Oakland, but according to the news source, he was moved to a small town in Napa County and buried there.
Madkins supposedly resided in Fairfield with his mother and grandparents.
Although authorities declined to give KUTV more information, it was reported by Oakland police that someone had been detained in relation to Madkins’ death.
Meanwhile, a Fairfield homeowner told the news organization that police were searching for a shallow grave outside using shovels. Fairfield extends into Napa County, where the toddler’s body was discovered, according to SFist.
A person of interest is now detained on an unrelated offense, according to The Napa Valley Register. The results of an autopsy that was done on Thursday are not yet known.
