A woman 55-year-old Paula Barbour attacks her husband at a South Carolina airport on Tuesday after discovering “many lewd photographs” on his phone, according to police.
Paula Barbour, 55, was detained at the Charleston airport Tuesday afternoon and charged with third-degree domestic assault, according to WCSC.
Officers arrived at the location and discovered Barbour physically fighting with her husband, according to arrest records. During interrogation, Barbour stated that they were on their way to South Carolina for vacation when she saw the images on his phone.
Police reviewed surveillance tape and discovered Barbour kicking her husband in the legs, attempting to beat him in the face, and tossing his cell phone. The arrival policemen were given the same version of events, but they did not see Barbour kicking the victim.
Barbour allegedly acknowledged to assaulting her spouse but claimed she only did so to get away from him. It’s unclear whether the images were taken by her or by someone else.
“The suspect indicated that all she wanted to do was get away from the victim and fly back home,” according to the incident report.
Barbour was detained at the Al Cannon Detention Center after being arrested. She was released the next day on a $5,000 bond.
