Venice Airplane Crash: A Woman And A Kid Reported Dead

The aircraft reportedly took off from Venice Municipal Airport on Saturday at 7:30 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. Official reports state that it crashed into the gulf shortly after.

In a plane crash that claimed the lives of a lady and a child, authorities are still searching for a guy.

The rented Piper Cherokee’s wreckage was discovered at roughly 2:00 pm, about a third of a mile offshore, close to the airport, according to the Venice Police Department.

Venice Police and Fire responded to a jet crash into the Gulf of Mexico early on Sunday morning.

Air assets found the wreckage of a rented Piper Cherokee at around 2:00 pm, roughly a third of a mile to the west offshore. The plane was located directly west of Venice Municipal Airport.

The investigation got underway at 10 am when the Federal Aviation Administration asked VPD to get in touch with the Venice Airport over a plane that hadn’t arrived on Saturday night. The plane left St. Petersburg, but it never came back to Venice.

Woman And A Child Found Dead

On Sunday, a recreational boater found a dead woman floating in the Gulf of Mexico about 2.5 miles west of Venice Beach. To look for the plane debris and any potential survivors, numerous authorities dispatched marine resources to the area.

Divers from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office found a dead child’s body within the plane’s passenger area on Sunday afternoon.

Venice Airplane Crash Case Update

Police said they have not yet discovered a male pilot or passenger who was on the aircraft throughout the journey.

Police claim to know who was on board, but they refuse to release their names until after their relatives have been informed and after other agencies have given them permission.

Authorities will continue looking for the missing guy through Sunday night and resume their search whenever conditions allow.

The Venice Police have withheld details on the occupants because the investigation is still open until family notifications and consent from other concerned organizations, like the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.

The District 12 Medical Examiner’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office, the Sarasota Police Department, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Florida Fish, and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the crash site are all still helping with the search.
