Three suspects allegedly impersonating officials of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have been arrested by men of the Nasarawa State Police Command following the interception of a Lexus IS 250 without a registration number during a routine patrol operation around Bukan Sidi in Lafia, the State Capital.
A statement issued by the spokesperson of the Command, SP Rahman Nansel says operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, while on patrol around the area intercepted the suspects identified as Mohammed Umar, Mohammed Nuhu, and Ibrahim Suleiman, who were travelling in the vehicle.

Upon interrogation, Mohammed Nuhu introduced himself as an officer of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and presented an identification card purportedly issued by the Commission.
However, when Mohammed Umar, the driver of the vehicle, was questioned about its ownership, he was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation, prompting the arrest of all three occupants for further investigation.
During the course of the investigation, findings allegedly revealed that the ICPC identification card presented by Mohammed Nuhu was forged.

He further claimed that he accompanied the driver from Kaduna State to Lafia because the driver did not possess a valid driver’s licence.
Furthermore, profiling of the suspects revealed that Ibrahim Suleiman was allegedly associated with an unlawful society known as the Eiye Confraternity.
According to the statement, the suspects will be charged to court for prosecution, while efforts are being intensified to verify the vehicle’s ownership and establish other offences that may be connected to the incident.
