Everton forward Thierno Barry and his partner, Charlene, have been left distressed after their home was burgled while the footballer was playing in his side’s Carabao Cup victory over Newcastle United.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening, October 29, as Everton defeated Newcastle United 3-1 at Hill Dickinson Stadium to book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Barry’s partner confirmed the burglary in a statement shared on social media, revealing that nobody was at home when the intruders broke in.
Unfortunately, our home was burgled this evening while we were at the football match,” Charlene wrote.
“Thankfully, nobody was home at the time, but this is still an extremely distressing and violating experience for us and our family.
“If anyone has seen or heard anything suspicious, or has any information that could help, we would be incredibly grateful if you could get in touch.”

She added that the couple were willing to offer a financial reward for information that could help identify those responsible.
Barry, who joined Everton from Villarreal in the summer of 2025, featured prominently in Thursday’s victory, scoring the third goal after setting up Hayden Hackney’s second-half strike.
The burglary is the latest in a series of incidents involving Premier League footballers whose homes have been targeted while they were away playing matches.
Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White’s family home was reportedly burgled earlier in the week, while Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes also had his property targeted during his side’s match against Como earlier this month.
