Police recover phone stolen from Adamawa to be sold in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old suspect, Mustapha Sani, and recovered an Infinix Android phone allegedly stolen in Adamawa State.

The arrest was made on October 19th by operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID), Awka, following intelligence-led policing and proactive efforts to track down the suspect.

Preliminary investigation by the police indicates that the suspect allegedly dispossessed unsuspecting victims of their mobile phones in Adamawa State before fleeing to Anambra State, where the stolen devices were reportedly intended for sale or use.

Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the recovered phone is currently being investigated to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged offence.

Ikenga said the command has commenced further investigations to determine the suspect’s involvement and facilitate the return of the recovered phone to its rightful owner.
