Six sentenced to two years imprisonment for physical conflict with KAI officials in Lagos

A magistrate court in Oshodi, Lagos state, has sentenced six men over physical conflict with officers of the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI).

The KAI officials had gone to the Alakija area of the state to carry out an operation when they confronted the officials.

The six defendants, identified as Ghadafi Ismail, Balarabe Mustapha, Usman Danladi, Abdullahi Bello, Kamala Garuba and Musa Idris, were arrested and arraigned before the court.

The defendants pleaded guilty to the charges brought against them and were subsequently convicted and sentenced to two years’ imprisonment by the court.

Reacting to the judgment, the state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, the judgment underscores the importance of respecting law enforcement officers in the lawful discharge of their duties and serves as a reminder that acts of violence against public officials will be addressed in accordance with the law.
