UK-based Nigerian actor Sunkanmi Omobolanle has officially become a British citizen.
The actor announced the milestone on Instagram, where he shared a video of himself celebrating the achievement with his wife.
Expressing gratitude for the journey, Omobolanle credited God for seeing him through and appreciated his wife for her support. He also jokingly celebrated his new status as a British citizen.
He wrote:
“Grateful for the journey so far
“It’s all been God and you wifey @glitzadore
“Baba yin ti di #britiko o”
Following the announcement, colleagues and friends, including Seyi Alesh, Salami Rotimi, Seilat, Kemity and Niyi Johnson, took to his Instagram page to congratulate the actor on the milestone.
Omobolanle’s citizenship announcement comes amid similar reports of Nigerian entertainers acquiring citizenship in other countries.
Veteran Nigerian rapper Olusegun Osaniyi, popularly known as Lord of Ajasa, recently became a United States citizen. The rapper shared the news online alongside a photo celebrating his new status as an American citizen.
