
The Cross River State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old man, Daniel Jackson, for allegedly threatening to k!ll his father.
The spokesperson for the command, ASP Eitokpah Sunday Akata, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, October 2, 2026 said the suspect was arrested following a report of an alleged threat of violence made at the Ekori Police Division.
According to the PPRO, Jackson’s father alleged that the suspect had threatened him with a firearm on October 1.
Akata said police operatives recovered a locally made gun and two live cartridges from the suspects during the arrest.
“The suspect was arrested at about 5:15 a.m. on Friday, 2nd October 2026 by men of the Division. During the arrest, a locally made gun and two live cartridges were recovered, the statement read.
“The arrest followed a complaint made by his father, who alleged that the suspect had threatened him with a firearm on 1st October 2026.
“The suspect is currently assisting the Police with investigation, while the recovered exhibits have been secured for further investigative purposes.
“The Command assures the public that the matter will be thoroughly investigated and handled in accordance with due process and the law, after which the suspect will be taken before the court as appropriate.”
