American singer, Lady Gaga and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, have reportedly welcomed their first child together through a surrogate.
According to TMZ, the couple’s daughter, Rose Bean Polansky, was born on June 9 at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The 40 year old singer and Polansky have kept much of their family life private, making the arrival of their first child a major development for the couple.
Lady Gaga’s daughter gets special family connection
A birth certificate obtained by TMZ reportedly revealed the newborn’s name, sex and details surrounding her birth.
The baby was reportedly delivered by Dr Robert Katz, an obstetrician and gynaecologist who has also delivered the daughter of musicians Ciara and Russell Wilson.
The name Rose carries a personal connection for Lady Gaga, whose maternal grandmother was Veronica Rose ‘Ronnie’ Ferrie Bissett.
The singer also has “La Vie En Rose”, the title of her song from A Star Is Born, tattooed along her spine.
Gaga and Polansky have been together since 2019
Lady Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, began dating Polansky in 2019. The couple became engaged in April 2024.
The reason the couple chose surrogacy has not been publicly established in the report.
Gaga has previously spoken publicly about living with fibromyalgia, a condition associated with widespread pain and fatigue, although the report does not state that the condition was the reason for their decision.
The arrival of Rose Bean Polansky marks a new chapter for Gaga and Polansky as they begin parenthood together.
