Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator, Mark Angel has revealed that he allegedly signed two of the country’s biggest music artistes, despite keeping his involvement in their careers largely out of the public eye.
Angel made the surprising disclosure while speaking about his activities beyond comedy, explaining that his relationship with the unnamed artistes has deliberately been kept private.
According to him, the decision to remain discreet is why members of the public rarely see them taking photographs together or openly discussing their business relationship.
Mark Angel says one artiste is among Africa’s fastest-growing
Mark Angel said, “A lot of people don’t know this, but I signed two of the biggest artistes in Nigeria. We keep everything low-key and don’t take pictures together.”
He further claimed that one of the musicians has experienced remarkable growth across the continent.
The comedian added, “One of the artistes is the fastest-growing in Africa.”
However, Angel did not disclose the identities of either artiste in the statement, leaving the revelation open to speculation among those familiar with Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
Mark Angel expands beyond comedy
Angel is widely known as the founder of Mark Angel Comedy and for his role in helping popularise comedy talents including Emmanuella. He has previously spoken about his involvement in developing entertainers and creating opportunities behind the scenes.
His latest revelation consequently sheds light on another aspect of his entertainment business interests, although the identities of the two artistes and details of their agreements remain undisclosed.
