Nigerian singers Seyi Vibez, Shallipopi and T.I Blaze have publicly called out their former label boss, Dapper, over allegations involving royalties, contracts and the handling of artists’ earnings.
The musicians took to social media to air their grievances against the music executive, with their separate claims sparking a fresh controversy within the Nigerian music industry.
T.I Blaze Raises Questions Over Royalties
The controversy gained attention after T.I Blaze publicly criticised Dapper Music, raising concerns about royalty payments, financial transparency and the management of artists’ earnings.
The singer, who parted ways with Dapper Entertainment earlier in 2026, accused the label boss of allowing greed to affect their professional relationship.
T.I Blaze also questioned how money generated from artists’ music was being tracked and distributed, suggesting that artists may not have had full access to information about their earnings.
Shallipopi Accuses Dapper of Withholding Royalties
Shallipopi subsequently joined the dispute, making a series of allegations against Dapper.
The singer claimed that Dapper was withholding royalty income from 46 of his songs, including money generated from his hit track “E Don Cast.”
He also alleged that Dapper transferred the catalogues of several artists to Virgin Music Group, collected money from the deal and failed to properly account for the proceeds.
Shallipopi wrote:
“Dapper nor forget na my laho money Dey with me o, u Dey hold me 46 songs royalty income including my ‘E don cast’ money and nor forget too you carry all of us catalog go give virgin u come collect block money, you come pocket am.”
He further accused the label boss of manipulation and said he had taken time to learn more about how financial transparency works in the music industry.
Shallipopi Makes Contract Allegation
The singer also made a more serious allegation concerning his contract with Dapper.
According to Shallipopi, he signed a management agreement with Dapper in 2023 but alleged that his signature was later forged on a 10-year distribution contract.
He wrote:
“In 2023 I signed to dapper management only, he forge my signature and put it on a 10 years distribution contract even when I already use distrokid.”
Shallipopi further alleged that Dapper went on to sign a deal with Virgin Music Group and collected money from the arrangement without giving him his share.
He also referenced an alleged EFCC case involving Dapper and called on the agency, the government and the media to take the matter seriously.
Seyi Vibez Joins the Dispute
Seyi Vibez also weighed in, making his own allegations about his former relationship with Dapper.
The singer claimed that his money was allegedly used to finance the signing of other artists under Dapper’s management.
Seyi Vibez wrote:
“Am bigger than the whole dapper and his entire generation
“And my money was the money being used to sign all the artiste he signed since Chance Naham!
“Allah walai
“I Made dapper
“Dem Dey use jazz
“The jazz no work on me
