Lionel Richie has taken a playful jab at Chris Brown and Usher while comparing their ongoing 2026 stadium tour to his own partnership with Earth, Wind & Fire.
During a recent concert, Richie joked that he and Earth, Wind & Fire had been doing joint tours decades before Brown and Usher, adding that the major difference was that they “didn’t go to jail.”
Brown appeared to take the joke in good spirits, reacting to a video of the moment on Instagram with laughing emojis and writing, “Damn unk. We love ya paw paw.”
Richie’s comment was a reference to Brown’s past legal troubles, including his 2009 assault case and a more recent case stemming from a 2023 nightclub altercation in London.
