Ossai Ovie Success has weighed in on the ongoing controversy involving Nigerian music twins Peter and Paul Okoye, expressing disappointment in Peter over his handling of the family dispute.
In a social media post, the Delta State Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media criticised Peter for allegedly remaining silent after his elder brother reportedly referred to his son as a “bastard”.
Ossai condemns Peter’s response
Ossai said he could not understand why Peter would remain silent after such an alleged insult involving his child.
He argued that a parent should strongly defend a five-month-old child, particularly when the alleged incident occurs within the family.
“I am disappointed in Peter, I will tell you guys why. Your elder brother called your son a bastard and you didn’t ensure one of his teeth’s got broken.
That is disappointing and Peter didn’t do well by keeping mute.”
Ossai then compared the situation to what he said he would do if his own brother insulted his child.
“There is no way in heaven and on earth that my brother will take my 5-month-old son’s photo, and call him a bastard in my bedroom, in front of my wife and the whole family, and he’d go scout-free. It cannot even happen.”
He said such an incident would trigger a serious confrontation and could permanently damage the relationship between the siblings.
“Hell will break loose, the earth will quake underneath our feet, the house will go down, and at least one of us will be hospitalized that day!
After that, I will completely sever ties with him. And it will be forever. It would not matter what is at stake. That’s the right thing to do! I am disappointed.”
Background to the Okoye family dispute
The comments come amid the long-running publicised dispute between Peter Okoye and his twin brother, Paul Okoye, formerly known together as PSquare.
The twins enjoyed significant success as a musical duo before their relationship deteriorated and they pursued separate careers.
Their split has repeatedly generated public attention, with both brothers making statements about their disagreements and family relationship.
The situation has also involved their elder brother, Jude Okoye, who previously played a major role in managing PSquare during the duo’s years of success.
Peter and Paul have occasionally exchanged accusations publicly, while their personal and business disagreements have continued to attract reactions from fans and public figures.
