Man claims decline in spending among Yahoo Boys, says he bought luxury TV at huge discount

A Nigerian man claims that many individuals involved in internet fraud, commonly referred to as “Yahoo boys,” are facing financial difficulties.

In a video circulating on social media, the man alleged that some individuals who previously lived lavish lifestyles and paid millions of naira annually in rent are now struggling to maintain their expenses.

According to him, many are reportedly selling personal belongings at heavily discounted prices.

As an example, he claimed to have recently purchased a large television from one such individual for ₦700,000, despite the device allegedly having been bought for more than ₦2.3 million.

The man used the anecdote to illustrate what he described as a downturn in the fortunes of some people engaged in fraudulent activities.

His words …

“95% of Yahøo boys in Asaba, Delta State, and several other states in Nigeria who are paying about ₦3 million as yearly house rent can no longer renew their rent. All of them don dey sell their things as second hand. I just bought a very big television from one of them. A very big giant television, he bought it for over N2.3 million. How much I buy am from him? 700K. Immediately I dey buy am him dey call dealer wey dey sell sm0k£ to am. ”
