A Ghanaian woman has stirred reactions online after criticizing President Bola Tinubu’s response to concerns about insecurity in Nigeria.
In a video, she questioned comments recently made by the president while Nigerians continue to grapple with kidnappings and other security challenges across the country.
According to her, while the Ghanaian government is reportedly making efforts to evacuate and assist citizens affected by xenophobic attacks in South Africa, Nigerian schoolchildren are being kidnapped and many citizens are demanding stronger action from authorities.
She expressed disbelief over the president’s remarks, saying she expected leaders to focus on addressing the security situation.
“If you’re an African and you think your government is bad, just think of Nigeria and sleep. There’s a country called Nigeria and there’s a president called Tinubu,” she said.
The woman added that discussions about insecurity and the abduction of schoolchildren should be treated with urgency, comparing the situation to what she described as Ghana’s response to its citizens facing attacks abroad.
