22-year-old man m8rdered in Plateau community

A 22-year-old man, identified as Zakari Adamu, has been killed by gunmen in Dutse Uku Village, Mbar District of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

 

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the  troops of Sector 5 under Operation Enduring Peace responded to a distress report at about 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 31, 2026 following information that the victim had been attacked and k!lled by suspected militia members in the community.

 

According to the sources, troops arrived at the scene and discovered the lifeless body of the victim, while the assailants had already fled before security personnel reached the area.

 

The corpse was subsequently released to the deceased’s relatives for burial according to Islamic rites.

 

A security source said troops, in collaboration with other security agencies, had commenced offensive operations and intelligence-driven efforts to track down and apprehend those responsible for the k!lling.

 

“The victim was found d3ad on arrival of troops at the scene. Security forces have launched operations to identify and arrest the perpetrators,” the source said.

 

Efforts are ongoing to prevent further escalation and maintain peace in the affected communities.
