Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, General Overseer of Omega Power Ministry, has appealed to stranded Nigerian families in South Africa to return home, saying he has acquired a mini estate in Port Harcourt to accommodate them.
According to the cleric, the decision came after videos of Nigerians allegedly being attacked and k!lled in South Africa left him disturbed, adding that he recently watched another disturbing case after one he reportedly saw last week.
He said the housing support is strictly for stranded Nigerian married couples with children who have nowhere to return to after spending years abroad, stressing that tribe or religion would not matter as long as they are Nigerians in need.
Apostle Chibuzor explained that affected families would be screened and their travel documents verified at OPM before being given free accommodation in the newly acquired estate.
He further stated that children of returnees would be enrolled in OPM’s free schools, wives would receive support to start petty businesses, while husbands would be trained in skills at OPM’s skill acquisition centres to help them restart life in Nigeria.
The cleric added that families would also receive one meal daily, noting that while OPM could not afford flight tickets due to expenses, he appealed to the Nigerian government and airlines to assist stranded Nigerians with transportation back home.
He encouraged affected Nigerians not to lose hope, assuring them that returning home does not mean sleeping on the streets, as arrangements have been made to help them rebuild their lives.
