An Ethiopian has been shot de@d in downtown Johannesburg amid rising xenophobic attacks on blacks from other African nations living in South Africa.
The victim was shot at close range on the busy intersection of Jeppe and Von Wielligh Streets.
CCTV footage shows the victim standing near a street stall when a man approached him from behind, pointed a gun at his head, and shot him at close range.
The victim fell immediately as blood gushed from his wound and the gunman walked away from the scene, while bystanders did nothing.
Authorities have identified the deceased as an Ethiopian national.
The South African Police Service confirmed that no arrests have been made and that investigations are ongoing.
In recent weeks, Black South Africans have been harassing blacks from other African countries and asking them to leave South Africa.
The xenophobic attacks have been condemned by many online but it has not stopped the attacks in any way.
