Media personality Daddy Freeze has berated Nollywood actor Yul Edochie over his reaction to Roby Ekpo’s emotional interview, sparking fresh debate online.
Roby Ekpo’s Emotional Interview Triggers Reactions
The drama began after Roby Ekpo opened up about his failed marriage in a now-viral interview.
His emotional expression drew mixed reactions, with some sympathising with him while others questioned his decision to publicly display his pain.
Do2dtun Backs Emotional Expression
Reacting to the backlash, media personality Do2dtun defended Roby, stressing that speaking up about emotional struggles is better than suffering in silence.
He highlighted the importance of mental health, encouraging men to be open about their feelings rather than suppress them.
Yul Edochie’s Comment Sparks Outrage
However, Yul Edochie took a different stance, dismissing Roby’s tears and suggesting he should move on by replacing his partner with multiple women.
He wrote: “My brother, Do2 speaking out is ok. Crying is totally unacceptable. Rather than cry for a woman, replace her with 5 new hot women, impregnate all of them at once.”
The comment quickly went viral, attracting criticism from many social media users.
Daddy Freeze Reacts
In response, Daddy Freeze criticised the actor’s advice, describing it as unrealistic and insensitive.
He said: “I am seeing all sorts of comments like Roby, why are you crying. Are you not a man? Yul Edochie said he should marry his seven (7) wives and get all of them pregnant on the same day. Shey Roby wey dey knack twice a week wan impregnate seven women on the same day? This Yul e be like say you no too get sense like that. Shey na man wey dey impregnate twice a week wan knack seven women. Person wey one impregnate seven women in a day go dey knack 2 or 3 times a day. Na those ones fit impregnant multiple women because you’ll be amazed that If you’re trying with a woman, the chances are often against you. It’s not like in high school that you “put one thing inside another” and it quickly results in pregnancy. Then you panic and say, “We tried it only once.”
But in real life, especially in marriage, when people are trying to have a child, some go five years with nothing. They set alarms, monitor ovulation, and still nothing happens.
So let’s look at the facts from Roby’s reality. He feels he has put in a lot and hasn’t gotten much in return, and I kind of sympathise with him. At 48, if he gets a woman pregnant today, she will give birth when he is 49. By the time he is 60, he’ll have an 11-year-old child, and at 70, he may still be training a child in university, not a grandchild o.
