Victor Boniface has taken a significant step in his recovery journey after returning to training with the ball following a long spell on the sidelines due to injury.
The Nigeria international underwent surgery in January after sustaining the injury during a training session, and has now spent over 200 days working his way back to fitness.
Boniface expressed his joy at being back on the pitch and his eagerness to contribute before the end of the season.

“I am really happy to be back. Three months out then I am back looking forward to what we can achieve at the end of the season,” he said.
Currently on loan at Werder Bremen, Boniface has featured in 11 matches this season, with only two starts, largely due to fitness setbacks.
His time on the pitch has been limited, and the recurring nature of his injuries has continued to influence his development and consistency.
Over the years, Boniface has faced several serious fitness challenges, including two cruciate ligament tears during the 2018 to 2019 and 2020 to 2021 seasons, along with a major adductor problem in the 2023 to 2024 campaign.

These issues have resulted in him missing more than 90 matches, highlighting a difficult pattern that has disrupted his progress at key moments in his career.
With only seven matches remaining in the current campaign, uncertainty remains over whether he will feature again for Werder Bremen before the season ends.
Despite the time constraint, Boniface is pushing to regain full match fitness quickly in hopes of rejoining the squad on the pitch and making a meaningful contribution before the final whistle of the season.
