A video circulating on social media has sparked concern after a Nigerian man alleged that residents of a community in Omupo have fled their homes due to ongoing insecurity.
In the footage, the individual claimed the town had been largely deserted following repeated attacks by suspected terrorists, showing empty streets and abandoned buildings.
“There are no residents anymore in this town as everyone have fled and left their homes because of terrorist attacks,” he alleged while filming the area. He further identified the location as Omupo in Kwara State, stating that fear had forced residents to relocate for safety.
The video has since drawn reactions online, with some users expressing concern over the security situation in parts of the country, while others questioned the accuracy and timing of the claims. As of now, there has been no official confirmation from security agencies or state authorities regarding the alleged mass displacement in the community.
