Nollywood actor Aremu Afolayan has responded to criticism following his recent engagement in a gathering supporting President Tinubu.
Aremu and a few other Nollywood actors, among others were filmed singing ‘on your mandate we shall stand’ in support on the Tinubu-led administration.
In a statement, he apologised to Nigerians, saying the backlash he received has been overwhelming.
“To all Nigerians, please forgive me. The criticism has been overwhelming,” he said.
The actor also addressed allegations, stating clearly that he did not receive money from anyone. He added that his comments were based on concerns about the current situation in the country.
“I didn’t take money from anyone, and it’s clear there’s insecurity while the government isn’t doing enough,” he said.
