Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has spoken publicly for the first time since his release from prison, claiming he was set up in the case that led to his imprisonment.
In a video uploaded on his YouTube page titled “Eniwaye Dáràn,” the actor addressed the controversy surrounding the 2021 incident in which fellow actress Princess accused him of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old foster daughter.

“My trust was betrayed. I ended up in Kirikiri prison because of a woman. She asked them to silence me so that my voice would not be heard. Please listen to my own side of the story,” he said.
According to Baba Ijesha, the incident that led to his arrest occurred on April 21, 2021, when Princess allegedly invited him to her residence, claiming she had prepared his favourite meal.

He further claimed that he was told there was a movie role waiting for him.
However, he later discovered that there was no film project and that the situation had allegedly been arranged in a way that led to his arrest.
“Please, my fans, be careful with friends. They cannot be trusted. The world is evil, and human beings are more wicked than venomous snakes,” Ijesha added.
The actor’s statement has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many people revisiting the controversial case and sharing different opinions about his claims.
Baba Ijesha was released in November 2025 after completing his three-year prison sentence following the highly publicised case that shook the Nigerian entertainment industry.
