Shia LaBeouf has been arrested in New Orleans following an alleged altercation during Mardi Gras celebrations.
The Transformers actor, 39, is facing two counts of simple battery and is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 17, law enforcement sources told PEOPLE.
He was involved in an incident shortly after midnight outside a bar in the city’s French Quarter.
TMZ obtained a video showing the shirtless actor receiving medical treatment from paramedics after the alleged scuffle.
It remains unclear what led to the altercation.
LaBeouf had been in New Orleans for Mardi Gras festivities since Thursday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The arrest adds to the actor’s long and highly publicized history of legal troubles.
In December 2020, musician FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit against LaBeouf alleging s£xual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress. The case was settled in July 2025 and LaBeouf denied the allegations.
In 2017, he was arrested in Georgia on charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct and was later ordered to attend court-mandated treatment.
