Former Doctor Who actor Noel Clarke has been arrested on suspicion of attempted r@pe and s3xual @ssault in connection with alleged historic offences in London.
The 50-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, February 10, after attending Islington police station by appointment, accompanied by his wife and solicitor. He was questioned by detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Central Specialist Crime Command.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of attempted r@pe, exposure and s3xual assault by touching on Tuesday, 10 February. He was interviewed by detectives.
“This arrest relates to a s3xual offence, which is alleged to have taken place in 2007 in London against a woman in her 20s.

“The man was also interviewed in relation to a voyeurism allegation, for which he was previously arrested in September 2025. This relates to an offence allegedly committed in 2013 at an address in London against a woman in her 20s. The man was bailed pending further enquiries and the Met’s investigation continues.”
The arrest relates to allegations that Clarke attempted to r@pe and s3xually @ssault a woman in 2007. He was also re-interviewed over a separate allegation of voyeurism dating back to 2013.
Clarke was previously arrested in September last year over the voyeurism allegation, when officers searched his Kensington home and seized electronic devices.
Following Tuesday’s interview, he was released on bail pending further inquiries. Clarke has consistently denied allegations of wrongdoing. In recent years, he lost a high-profile libel case against The Guardian over reporting of s3xual misconduct allegations. The legal battle resulted in significant costs, and he was declared bankrupt after failing to pay an initial sum toward the newspaper’s legal fees.
In a previous statement after losing the case, Clarke said: “For almost five years, I have fought against a powerful media outlet and its extensive legal teams over inaccurate and damaging reporting.
“These stories started via anonymous emails portraying me as a monster to attract attention and outrage. The goal was to damage my career, and they succeeded.
“I have never claimed to be perfect. But I am not the person described in these articles. Overnight I lost everything, the media outlet didn’t just ruin my life they ripped through my family’s also.”
Clarke rose to prominence for his role as Mickey Smith in Doctor Who between 2005 and 2010. He also wrote and starred in the film Kidulthood and directed its sequels Adulthood and Brotherhood. In 2009, he received the Rising Star award at the Bafta Film Awards, and in 2021 was presented with Bafta’s Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema honour, which was later suspended following allegations of misconduct.
The Metropolitan Police investigation remains ongoing.
