Arokodare Ends Premier League Goal Drought

Tolu Arokodare scored his second Premier League goal for Wolverhampton Wanderers, but it was not enough to prevent a 3–1 home defeat against Chelsea.

Cole Palmer proved decisive for the visitors, netting a hat-trick that included two penalties and one goal from open play to seal the win for the Blues.

Arokodare’s goal came from a well-worked set piece and briefly gave Wolves hope.

Mateus Mané delivered the corner, Armstrong flicked it on at the near post, and the Nigerian striker reacted quickest to apply a composed finish and send the ball into the back of the net.

Beyond the goal, Arokodare delivered a solid individual performance.

He completed ten passes, registered a 100 percent success rate in his dribbles, and won five duels, continuing to show his physical presence and work rate as Wolves’ focal point in attack.

Despite the defeat, Wolves head coach Rob Edwards was full of praise for the striker’s effort and development, saying:

“Like all of us, he’s trying to improve and keep pushing. It’s great for him. He worked extremely hard for the team and did a lot of really good things out there.”

Arokodare will be hoping to build on this momentum in the coming weeks, with his form crucial to Wolves’ survival hopes.

Following the departure of Strand Larsen to Crystal Palace, the Nigerian forward is now the club’s only striker and carries much of the responsibility in the final third.

Edwards also reflected on the broader situation at the club after the match, adding:

“We’re trying to change things and move forward in the hardest league in the world. We’ve had a busy window with a number of players leaving, but the new lads who have come in gave us a lot today.”

The result leaves Wolverhampton Wanderers deep in trouble at the bottom end of the Premier League table.

After 25 matches, Wolves have managed just one win, five draws, and 19 defeats, leaving them 18 points from safety as the fight for survival grows increasingly difficult.
