A former veterinarian has been sentenced to nearly 24 years in prison for drugging and s3xually abusing young boys at summer camps in UK. Jon Ruben, 76, was described in court as using “the cloak of Christianity” to carry out attacks on vulnerable children.
Leicester Crown Court heard that Ruben, labelled by his wife as a “sadistic, monstrous p@edophile,” was sentenced to 23 years and 10 months. Judge Timothy Spencer KC stated Ruben would serve an additional period on licence, bringing the total sentence to 31 years and eight months.
Ruben had previously pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including s3xual assault of a child under 13, assault of a child under 13 by p3netration, eight counts of ch!ld cruelty, three counts of making ind3cent images of chi!ldren, and four drugs charges.
During the sentencing hearing on Friday, Judge Spencer told Ruben, “Ultimately, this case is about you achieving s3xual gratification by carrying out your se3xual fantasies focused upon young boys through careful, cynical, chilling preparation and by manipulation.
“
The case involved the abuse of boys at summer camps, where Ruben used his position and drugs to facilitate the assaults.
