Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has shared her opinion on the ongoing discussions surrounding actors and actresses dancing on social media to promote their movies.
The issue has continued to divide opinions within the Nigerian film industry, with top stars expressing different views.

Taking to her Instagram page, Iyabo Ojo questioned the idea that there are fixed rules on how movies should be promoted.
According to her, no one owes anyone an explanation on their marketing strategy.
She stated that jealousy often fuels unnecessary criticism in the industry.

How the Movie Promotion Controversy Began
The debate became heated after filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, during the premiere of his movie, stated that he was not interested in earning ₦1 billion or ₦2 billion at the box office if he could not personally make at least ₦10 million from it.
He also criticized actors who dance on social media to promote their films.
Funke Akindele Fires Back
Reacting to Kunle Afolayan’s comments, actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele made it clear that she was not responsible for anyone’s progress or failure.
She urged him not to allow jealousy consume him, adding that the entertainment industry is large enough for everyone to succeed.
Omotola Declares Her Stand on Dancing
Veteran actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde also joined the discussion, stating that she would not dance to promote her movies.
She described such a promotional style as unprofessional, stressing that a quality film should speak for itself.
However, she later shared a video of herself dancing while promoting her highest-grossing movie, sparking mixed reactions online.
