Terrorists abduct six family members in Adamawa

Gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists have abducted six members of a family in Gare Village,  Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

 

 

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, January 26, 2026. 

 

 

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, who confirmed the incident said that police operatives, in collaboration with sister security agencies, had launched an intensified rescue operation.

 

 

According to him, a joint operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, troops of the 144 Battalion, and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force had been deployed to Gare Village and surrounding communities to carry out the rescue mission.

 

“The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed an attack on Gare Village, Pallam District, Madagali Local Government Area, in the early hours of today by suspected  terrorists, which led to the abduction of a six(6) family members and the rustling of livestock,” the statement read.

 

“Upon receipt of the report, the Command immediately intensified collaboration and deployed additional personnel and operational assets in a joint operation involving the Nigeria Police Force, Troops of 144 Battalion, and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) to the affected area and surrounding communities.

 

“The Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, *CP Dankombo Morris, PSC(+), has directed sustained search-and-rescue operations, reinforced patrols, and heightened security presence across Madagali and other border communities to ensure the safe rescue/return of the victims and prevent further threats.

 

“The Command in collaboration with the Nigerian Army and other sister security agencies, remain fully committed to protecting lives and properties across the State. Further updates will be communicated.”
