The Nigeria Police Force in Adamawa State has arrested two suspected kidnappers allegedly terrorising the Sarau Belel community in Maiha Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje, disclosed this in a statement, saying the arrests followed a complaint over a kidnapping threat received by the police.
According to Nguroje, the complaint was lodged on December 26, 2025, by Emmanuel Daniel, a resident of Sagal Village, who reported that he had been threatened with abduction by two individuals.
“On 26th December 2025, the Command received a complaint from Emmanuel Daniel, a resident of Sagal Village, who reported that he was threatened with kidnapping by two individuals,” he said.
“The suspects allegedly claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of his younger brother, Joshua Daniel, who was abducted in November 2024.”
Nguroje said the Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, immediately directed the Divisional Police Officer in Sarau Belel and other operatives to carry out a coordinated operation, which led to the arrest of the suspects.
He identified them as Sunday Yakubu, 36, and Daniel Yakubu, 38, both residents of Konjoli Village in Maiha Local Government Area.
“During the investigation, the suspects confessed to the allegations and are currently aiding the command with useful information,” Nguroje added. He said the commissioner had also directed the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the case to ensure a thorough investigation and diligent prosecution in line with the law.
The command reassured residents of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state and urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support police operations.
